Welcome to Ursuline Sixth Form Wimbledon

Headteacher Julia Waters with two pupils

Message from the Headteacher Julia Waters

This is an exciting and uncertain time to begin your Sixth Form studies.  You are making important decisions about the next step in your education.

At the Ursuline High School we offer an excellent pathway to your chosen university, every subject has a link with a university department, we prepare you for the independent learning skills needed for lectures and seminars, our expert Careers Advisor offers one to one advice and guidance on university and career choices.  As a Government designated lead school for Gifted and Talented students we also offer specialist support for Oxbridge applicants and for students applying for Medicine, Law and other prestigious courses.

We are also aware some students are considering alteratives to University such as degrees at local colleges or places on apprenticeship courses at level 3.  We are in the forfront of making new and exciting links with local providers.

Sixth Form students are invited to take full part in the life of the school through our chaplaincy, prefects system, leadership training and community service programmes.  We give you the opportunity to contribute to the development of the Sixth Form through our student council.

We have a flourishing enrichment programme in sport, drama, music and many other extra-curricular activities.  There are many opportunities for field work and cultural trips.  Recent visits have included New York, China and India.

As a student at the Ursuline you have access to courses at Wimbledon College as part of our consortium arrangements.  If we cannot offer you the course you want in our consortium Holy Cross or Richard Challoner school can offer you a place on the particular course if places are available.

Our Sixth Form will give you the opportunity to develop as young women who seek to use their talents for the benefit of others in the spirit of our foundress, St Angela Merici.  We are confident that you will find the Sixth Form challenging and rewarding and an excellent preparation for university or college life.
